My name is Katya and I’m fourteen.
I like learning languages and today I learn two – English and German.
I started to learn German since February this year and I’m learning English for approximately two years now. If you ask me why I learn languages I can tell, that it is my passion. I learn English first of all because it is a most common and used language in the world. Also when one wants to get a good job employers require a good knowledge of English. Furthermore, I would love to travel around the world, especially to London, and communicate to people easily.
But if you ask me why I learn German, it’s because I would love to move one day to Germany. At this moment I am an eighth grade student and I plan to graduate my High School here in Kiev. But after my graduation I plan to continue my education, as well as my career in Germany, as one day I would like to become a doctor of medicine.
I would also like to learn Spanish – I think it’s a very beautiful and passionate language! However, I need to learn Latin instead due to the fact, that it will be required for my medical education at a university later on.
A bit of history:
English: Appearing in the early Middle Ages, as the language of the Germanic tribes that invaded inhabited by the Celts of Britain after leaving it the Romans, he was native to most of the UK population, and then, with the territorial growth of the possessions of the British Empire, has spread to Asia, Africa, North America and Australia. Even after the acquisition of the actual independence of the majority of former British colonies, the English language was there any native language most of the population (as in the United States, Australia, New Zealand), or one of the official languages (as in India).
This is the native language of a significant number of people from several countries -. English, most of the US population (one of the two official languages of Ireland, Canada and Malta, the official Australian language of New Zealand is used as an official in some countries of Asia and Africa, English is the second largest in the world (after China) in the number of native speakers, for whom it is their mother tongue. This is the “first” language of 402 million people (data for 2002). Approximately 300 million to 1 billion people speak English as a “second” language. This the language that is most often used for international communication in English -. it is also the most commonly studied language in Europe, the whole world speaks English every seventh person -. as a mother or as a second language.
German: language German, Austrian, Liechtenstein and most of the Swiss, the official language of Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, one of the official languages of Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium. He is one of the world’s most widespread language after Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, English, Spanish, Bengali, Portuguese, Russian and Japanese. German – one of the official and working languages of the European Union and other international organizations.
It belongs to the western subgroup of the Germanic languages of Indo-European family. Writing on the basis of the Latin alphabet, supplemented by three graphemes designating umlauts (a, o, u), and ligature Eszett (?). The earliest written records belong to the VIII century.German goes back to Teutonic, which, in turn, is an offshoot of the PIE. Changing the phonetic and morphological language systems as a result of the second consonant shift led to its isolation from the related Germanic languages
In general, languages are the doors to the world, and I want to open them!
