At the end vs. in the end

We use at the end (of) (в конце чего-либо)to talk about:

 the point in time where something finishes e.g. At the end of the book, she was crying.

the specific place e. g. Go straight ahead and at the end of the street you’ll find the art gallery.

We use in the end (в конце концов, наконец, в конечном счёте) as a synonym to finally, after a long time, eventually.

e. g. It was a very long journey but in the end we got there.
